Report Tables.

Sunday, January 2, 2022.

20 m: 1500 - 1535 UTC, 14055 kHz.

Notes:
- De AA7FV: Optional 4-ft active vertical on receive. N2ZUT: About 2 or 3 S-points stronger on my active vertical than the rhombic. I guess the rhombic has a null in your direction!
- De N2ZUT: Interesting conditions this morning. Despite heavy QSB, it was still a fun operating sked. Happy New Year to all!

- De CN8YR: A very happy new year to All SSN Friends.
- De AA7FV: Great to hear everyone.  A good start to the SSN year. Please keep safe, enjoy a Happy New Year, and see you next time.
- De F5LAW: Nice sessions in spite of unstable conditions. Sorry, had to go QRT in middle of 17m session. A Happy and Healthy Year 2022 to you and yours fellows.

Sunday, January 9, 2022.

20 m: 1500 - 1523 UTC, 14349 kHz.

Notes:
- De AA7FV: 14349 kHz. (QRM on 14055 kHz). I heard two other stations calling, both very weak and with strong echo. ??? DL2KHU?? RST 219 (I copied a "5" in the call, which might have been an "H" with an echo! Sorry I couldn't do better!) and ?????? RST 119. From the delay on the echo, I'm guessing both unknown stations were in EU. Sorry that I wasn't able to copy better today. VERY poor and disappointing 20m conditions. It was the echo today that made things especially hard.
- De F5LAW: Messages from NCS mostly unintelligible: Echo as strong as signal and deep QSB. Rare peaks at S7, S4 in QSB, QRK 5 on short bits but mostly 2 to 1, whatever the signal strength. Heard PA3BYW calling in but very weak, tried to QSP and called him but was unheard, awful conditions. Didn't hear G4CPA and IZ2XAO on 14055 kHz, only contest QRM so QSY to alt QRG.
- De G4CPA: The QRG was in constant use by various chasers of other group interests. However at 15.00 UTC I had a brief QSO with Luca IZ2XAO rst 599 each way! Then he suddenly disappeared in deep QSB, I didn't cpy anymore SSN stns on other QRGs.

Notes:

- De G4CPA: I heard the odd dit n dot from some of the other stns but too weak to read.

- De F5LAW: Excellent sessions, no short skip here.
- De K9TJL: N1EA DR I heard you calling me at 1642Z on 18088 kHz, but you Fdz out...

Notes:
- De AA7FV: F5LAW 449, down to 339 at end.  Strong echo/flutter on the signal made copy difficult.
- De N2ZUT: Greetings from Upstate New York where the temperature is a balmy minus 10! Interesting conditions today.
- De F5LAW: Very rough copy on NCS due to huge echo, tried all bells and whistles of TRX + 2 antennas but no success. S7 on peaks with some deep QSB but would have been QRK 5 all the way without that awful echo.
- De G4CPA: Nuthin to rprt hr. Just the odd dot n dash? Condx terrible! Must have been yesterday's storm Malik to blame hi!

Notes:
- De AA7FV: Contest QRM on 14055. Some QRM from splatter from SSB net lower in frequency, and some deliberate CW QRM on frequency.
- De F5LAW: Well, I was feeling uneasy, terrible storm again. We are still in orange alert level with winds over 100 kph. Dudley wasn't too bad here but Eunice was terrible and this stormy episode isn't over yet. Fingers crossed...
- De G4CPA: Condx just like the WX crazy!! Storm Franklin has arrived it's pretty windy. The big problem with this one is the relentless heavy rain causing flooding around lots of areas in the UK, it's supposed to fade away in the morning abt 07.00 UTC. So keep your eyes on this one Yann. My aerial is still up! I only mngd to copy Darrel wkg you he was RST 339. No others hrd.

- De AA7FV: After net was I called by and worked GM4PWR. Conditions on 17m were excellent to AZ. A CME from the sun is expected to hit the earth today - maybe it's already arrived.

Notes:
- De AA7FV: Conditions on 20m were very poor today, but on 17m very good propagation between AZ and F, especially at the end. The geomagnetic Ap index was 22 this morning, so it's surprising that conditions were as good as they were.

- De G4CPA: I could hear you Darrel, 339, I kept trying to get in but condx didn't allow. You were busy at the end of 20m sesh, but still couldn't barge hi! Sry no one else cpd.

20 m: 1500 - 1529 UTC, 14055 kHz.

Notes:
- De AA7FV: After the 20m net was called by N2TNN and K1NIE, but not SSN. The Sun had been quite active in the last 12 hours or so. There had even been a radio blackout at 03:30 UTC, which I had also detected via my 19.8 kHz VLF monitoring of the signal from NWC in Australia. Disappointing conditions today. I hope the Sun settles down a bit by next week.

17 m: 1600 - 1617 UTC, 18088 kHz.

Notes:
- De AA7FV: I just checked (SWPC), and there was a solar X-ray flare coincident with our 17m net. The event started at 16:02 UTC, and ended at 16:13 . That "nicely" covers the 17m SSN, and would account for why signals between France and Arizona were getting weaker and weaker during the net.
- De KT5LA: No joy for me on any SSN today...not much QRM, just poor conditions.

Notes:
- De AA7FV: There had been a DX pileup on the frequency, but fortunately it completely disappeared by net time. 17m was MUCH better than 20m had been, although Jay was still hard copy into Arizona.
- De KT5LA: Well, 17 meters (I think my favorite band generally) was better than 20 this morning. But I had to rely on the K6KFS web SDR  for receiving today.
