US 40 m (80/30 m) Net.
Section under development.
To move to a net archive page, use the list boxes in the upper-right corner. Select year, net and click on the "Go" button.
NB: Pre-2012 net data are not processed. The Region 3 Net started on February 5, 2017 and ended in 2020.
The following graph and tables provide an overview of the variations in the level of activity for this net and give a general idea of the HF conditions met during the sessions.
-
QNI Graph.
In each month column of this bar graph, the number of participants, Net Control Station (NCS) and participating stations (QNI's), is shown:
- Per week: first week at bottom of column up to fourth/fifth week of the month;
- Per month: red on white background on top of column.
The bottom row in the table shows:
- Total number of sessions;
- Total number of participants;
- Average number of participants per session.
Click on a month name at the top of the graph to jump to the "QNI table" listing all participants per session.
-
QNI Table.
This table lists all net participants per month, week and session. NCS's are marked with "*". "Visitors" are not listed unless they took part in a session. Click on a day date in red to jump to the corresponding report table(s) if available.
-
Report Tables.
These tables compile reception reports received from net participants or listeners (SWL's). NCS's are marked with "*". Each row of a table recapitulates the reports given to the participants by the station listed in the "De" column. Call signs in italics on a different background color in "De" columns indicate reception reports. Reports expressed in decibels, +10dB for instance, must be understood as values over S9.

Report Tables.
Thursday, January 2, 2025.
40 m: Friday, 0100 - 0155 UTC, 7044.5 kHz.
Notes:
- De AA7FV: 7044.5 kHz (7044.0 was busy.) All stations were at least 599 into AZ. Based on the G4 (Kp=8) geomagnetic storm earlier, I had been predicting to myself that conditions would be very bad tonight. In fact, they were superb. Thanks everyone for a great start to the New Year. I hope the year continues well for everyone, and see you next time.

40 m: Friday, 0100 - 0155 UTC, 7044 kHz.
Notes:
- De WA4FAT: A fun Net this evening with good copy on everyone. Great to have Teri back with us now that her situation allows it. She and her Titan sounded fabulous. Also happy to learn that Roy and Jay are both OK despite the unimaginable devastation in Los Angeles County. Our prayers to all involved.
- De AA7FV: All signals were getting even stronger into Arizona as the net progressed. Thanks everyone, and good luck to the Californians surviving the fires there.
- De WA7SPY: I am sorry I was unable to respond on Thursday night’s net. My key was not responding. It is all fixed now and hope to have better luck next time.

40 m: Friday, 0100 - 0155 UTC, 7044 kHz.
Notes:
- De KA5TJS: Great signals and wish we had had a few more. They missed a good band.
- De AA7FV: Excellent signals into Arizona tonight, from everyone. Some QSB, but signals were so strong that the QSB wasn't noticeable. Apologies, I had to leave the net early to join my monthly radio club meeting.
- De KT5LA: I was also listening on the Utah SDR, and signals were better OTA! Some QSB on Allen, but good signals and a very nice net.
- De KO4WFP: Unavailable.

Thursday, January 23, 2025.
40 m: Friday, 0100 - 0155 UTC, 7044 kHz.
Notes:
- De AA7FV: Good signals from everyone into Arizona, although with deep QSB. Not everyone in the net could hear everyone else. I guess the distance from AA7FV to everyone else is just right for 40m at this time of the evening.
- De KT5LA: I am reporting from Quartzfest, the Amateur Radio/motorhome gathering just south of Quartzsite Arizona. It’s a weeklong event, but I only arrived on Wednesday. I will be leaving Saturday, after the closing ceremonies (and raffle!). All of these reports improved on the second round, the band seemed to really improve during the net.
- De W1SFR: Well, I'll be back on the NCS list, and although I haven't been able to copy Jay or Roy too well in the past, I could actually copy them last night albeit using all my QRP listening tricks to do it.

40 m: Friday, 0100 - 0155 UTC, 7044 kHz.
Notes:
- De AA7FV: At the start of the net strong QRM came up on our usual frequency, so NCS announced an immediate QSY to 7044.5 kHz.
- De KO4WFP: Sorry I was late to the net. There was QRM at the beginning and I couldn't hear what was going on. I didn't realize you would move half a kilohertz up and kept looking up and down in increments of 1 hertz instead. By the time I found the net, you were already well into the first round and I didn't see a place to break in and participate... Here are the RSTs I heard.
- De WX7V: I did listen in on the Thursday SSN - FB signals from all ranging from 539 to 589. I wasn't able to join but enjoyed hearing you all and then reading the email follow ups.

Thursday, February 20, 2025.
40 m: Friday, 0100 - 0155 UTC, 7044 kHz.
Notes:
- De WA4FAT: Another excellent Net tonight where most everyone could hear each other. Glad the left coast stations could join us after being absent last week.
- De AA7FV: Apologies, I had to leave early to join my local club meeting.
- De KT5LA: A very pleasant net, with the added QSY contribution from Bill's cat. On my home station, Bill suddenly disappeared (I had a 100hz filter on the FT991), and his frequency changed on the SDR. Having bumped the dial many times with my wrist, I assumed the same. Bill credited his cat. Excellent signals tonight from all stations. I could copy most of the net over-the-air and kept the Utah SDR with the omni antenna mostly on muted standby. 40 meters has been pretty nice here of late.
