EU 80 m Net.
Section under development.
To move to a net archive page, use the list boxes in the upper-right corner. Select year, net and click on the "Go" button.
NB: Pre-2012 net data are not processed. The Region 3 Net started on February 5, 2017 and ended in 2020.
The following graph and tables provide an overview of the variations in the level of activity for this net and give a general idea of the HF conditions met during the sessions.
-
QNI Graph.
In each month column of this bar graph, the number of participants, Net Control Station (NCS) and participating stations (QNI's), is shown:
- Per week: first week at bottom of column up to fourth/fifth week of the month;
- Per month: red on white background on top of column.
The bottom row in the table shows:
- Total number of sessions;
- Total number of participants;
- Average number of participants per session.
Click on a month name at the top of the graph to jump to the "QNI table" listing all participants per session.
-
QNI Table.
This table lists all net participants per month, week and session. NCS's are marked with "*". "Visitors" are not listed unless they took part in a session. Click on a day date in red to jump to the corresponding report table(s) if available.
-
Report Tables.
These tables compile reception reports received from net participants or listeners (SWL's). NCS's are marked with "*". Each row of a table recapitulates the reports given to the participants by the station listed in the "De" column. Call signs in italics on a different background color in "De" columns indicate reception reports. Reports expressed in decibels, +10dB for instance, must be understood as values over S9.

Report Tables.
Sunday, January 2, 2022.
80 m: 2000 - 2100 UTC, 3566 kHz.
Notes:
- De PA3BYW: First of all my best wishes to all for the new year! Tried calling CQ for a while but had to QNF at 20.45 UTC. (After the net I had a nice bug QSO with Martin, IK2RMZ with good sigs.) Hope cuagn next session (es btr condx).
- De F5LAW: Same participants as last Sunday, almost same scenario, but no happy ending this time. I could copy Durk and Peter via DK0TE webSDR. QSX till 2100 UTC, calling NCS at 2050 and 2100 UTC but NIL. Not a good start for 2022, better next Sunday I hope. A Happy and Healthy year 2022 to you and yours friends.
- De GM3VMB: What a struggle. I was hearing Durk between 559 but, toward the end 219 - very deep QSB. Yann, your signal was really weak. I heard you calling Durk and him allocating you as #1 then propagation got even worse. The conditions were so bad that I would not have called except that I wanted to try to QSP between both of you. I agree - Durk deserves our gratitude for dogged perseverance in a hopeless task! A Happy and Healthy Year 2022 to you and yours, take care and keep safe. May the Force be with you.
- De M0HTE: I heard Durk calling very faint and I think I heard Yann but too faint to copy. Poor condx last night, nothing much on 80m or 40m though I did work a Frenchman on 40 but QSB was too bad. He gave me 559 and I gave him 449. Went back to SSN but nothing heard. Hope to meet you next week.

Sunday, January 9, 2022.
80 m: 2000 - 2058 UTC, 3566 kHz.
Notes:
- De F5LAW: Disappointing, strange conditions again, but better than last Sunday. PA3BYW and G4ZXN both QRK 5 all the way but hard-going at times. M0HTE mostly in the noise, brief peak at 569, thanks Durk for relaying John's QNI and messages.
- De M0HTE: QSB was too bad to stay on and try to communicate. Yann was 579 on initial call but faded to nil or 229 at times then a boost to 579 again but dropped out after that. Durk mostly 559 but dropped out to nil as well. Sorry chaps, better luck next time. I did go down in freq on 80m and worked II2WRTC then a German station on 40m before closing down following calls from XYL.

Sunday, January 16, 2022.
80 m: 2000 - 2107 UTC, 3566 kHz.
Notes:
- De PA3BYW: I was calling at 19.45 UTC but nil. Then G0GSY called. No more QNI's then. After about 15 minutes I heard F5LAW with very faint signals at nil after that, about 10 minutes later DL2KHU was logged but disappeared after exchanging reports.
- De F5LAW: Hard-going indeed but we made it at last... Nil at first so tried various EU webSDRs, NIL at all. Then briefly heard Durk - PA3BYW on a UK webSDR, so back in shack and his signal started improving on the air: About 229 at 2017Z, then NIL again, signal back at 2035Z and gradually improving up to 599 +10dB. Armchair copy till QNF with ups and downs. No other stations heard. Thanks for your
patience and efforts Durk!
- De DL2KHU: This evening I could copy only Durk, PA3BYW, at 20:30 UTC for a few minutes with RST 359. Nil from any other station.
- De M0HTE: Nothing heard on the SSN Net Sunday, not a peep. I went down the band to check my gear and heard II3WRTC 599. Similar on 40m, pretty much dead.

80 m: 2000 - 2122 UTC, 3566 kHz.
Notes:
- De F5LAW: Crazy conditions again. Could hardly hear Al and Durk at first. Conditions improved around 2025 UTC but still very unstable. Great to have Al on board with us and very pleased John reappeared at very end of net.
- De DL2KHU: Heard from 19:45 till 20:30 UTC. Vy weak traffic in the background but nothing to copy. Maybe I heard G4ZXN, Martin, calling at abt 20:00 UTC. Hpe better conds next Sunday. Only sometimes vy weak sigs in the background but I'm not sure, if it was from the SSN. Sunday evening the local noise was vy low so I first thought, that it would become a nice session but no skip to Cologne. That's ham radio.

- De M0HTE: Only heard Durk PA3BYW last night. He was 579 at peak but QSB took him down to nil. No other station heard.
- De ON6WJ: no luck for my first entree of this year! -PA3BYW Op. Durk was here RST max 229! Not possible to have a QSO. -F5LAW Op. Yann best figure RST 549, mostly much less. -Sri did not copy any other participants, hope to join next Sunday.
- De F5LAW: Yet another very hard-going net, DK0TE webSDR assistance required. Part copy on PA3BYW and M0HTE via webSDR. ON6WJ briefly peaked +20dB and down into noise after a few seconds. Thanks for your patience friends and MCI BCP Durk for your tenacity.

Notes:
- De F5LAW: Nice start with good signals but QSB got all stations after beginning of round 2. Very pleased M5TUE and GM3VMB joined the fun. FYI, very stormy WX during net, kind of a tornado, very impressive. Will check antennas and garden TMW, heard big bangs here and there...
- De DL2KHU: The EU net yesterday started with vy good sigs but after rnd 1 the conds went down. Local QRM was S9. Ant 7 m monopole (WX was to windy for the long fishing pole).
- De PA3BYW: Conditions good at QNI and first round but signal went into the noise 2nd round, so used DK0TE web SDR with good copy on most stations.
- De M0HTE: My Delta loop ant was down and I was on a LW which did not tune up very well on 80m.

- De YL/PG4I: It was nice to participate from Latvia. I have been using YL3JD's equipment and antenna, IC7300 and FD4, Begali Sculpture Swing Cootie. Maybe we will see Hanz in future nets as he seemed very interested... :-)
- De F5LAW: Very nice net, great to have Jo - PG4I operating from YL3JD, regards to Hanz. Delta loop repaired at M0HTE, FB!

- De M0HTE: Best copy for quite a while. I could read everybody most of the time but some QSB.

- De YL3JD: First SSN round for me and enjoyed it a lot last night. Started with a lot QSB but in the last few rounds it became less but still some deep QSB every now and then so i missed some parts.
- De PG4I: I was using my Begali Sculpture Swing, forgot to mention it in round 2. Overall good copy during the whole session, had some problems with John's signal at the end as it got worse. Welcome to Hanz and nice to meet Bob for the first time in SSN, good fist!

Notes:
- De DL2KHU: An interesting and relaxing session. Good conds. Some fast QSB. Vy pleased to work Gerard agn. Here my rprts. You can add 1 or 2 S-Meter steps to every rprt. I used my QRM-eliminator. On 80 m it reduces the local QRM abt 3 - 4 S-Meter steps but also the wanted signal with perhaps 10 dB.
- De F6EEQ: Nice to be back with you. I've had a lack of motivation lately, but, suddenly (!) I thought back to SSN! So I'm checking in back to this weekly and another daily net, to start-up again! Conditions were rather good yesterday evening on 80, opposite to 14 and 18 where I heard nil! (probably sun storm).
- De F5LAW: Super session with good signals, flutter signals at end from PA3BYW and M5TUE.

- De AA7FV: I tried to monitor the EU SSN on 3566 kHz via the Twente WebSDR. It wasn't completely successful: in spite of turning off the waterfall and turning on extra audio buffering, the Internet audio kept dropping out. The readability would have been 5 for everyone if the Internet audio had been more reliable. The strength is just an estimate based on comparison with the background noise from the Twente receiver.

- De DL2KHU: I must correct my mag loop rprts. TF4M reported only 10 dB, not 30. I did the first test with the small antenna on 2. November. Got rprts from whole Europe, many with 30 dB s/n or more. Pwr was 10 wtts. At later tests I could not reach this astonishing rprts, but the antenna is usable. Attached a picture of the mag loop taken this morning. If you look closely, you can see the antenna wire that leads to the birch from the bottom right. That is my 7 m monopole. When I just took the picture I called cq with the mag loop. This morning rprt from TF4M was 7 dB s/n.
