Net Archives 2023.
Intercontinental Net.
Section under development.
To move to a net archive page, use the list boxes in the upper-right corner. Select year, net and click on the "Go" button.
NB: Pre-2012 net data are not processed. The Region 3 Net started on February 5, 2017 and ended in 2020.
The following graph and tables provide an overview of the variations in the level of activity for this net and give a general idea of the HF conditions met during the sessions.
-
QNI Graph.
In each month column of this bar graph, the number of participants, Net Control Station (NCS) and participating stations (QNI's), is shown:
- Per week: first week at bottom of column up to fourth/fifth week of the month;
- Per month: red on white background on top of column.
The bottom row in the table shows:
- Total number of sessions;
- Total number of participants;
- Average number of participants per session.
Click on a month name at the top of the graph to jump to the "QNI table" listing all participants per session.
-
QNI Table.
This table lists all net participants per month, week and session. NCS's are marked with "*". "Visitors" are not listed unless they took part in a session. Click on a day date in red to jump to the corresponding report table(s) if available.
-
Report Tables.
These tables compile reception reports received from net participants or listeners (SWL's). NCS's are marked with "*". Each row of a table recapitulates the reports given to the participants by the station listed in the "De" column. Call signs in italics on a different background color in "De" columns indicate reception reports. Reports expressed in decibels, +10dB for instance, must be understood as values over S9.

- De WX7V: I tried to join the 17M net but couldn't hear anything - even Darrel who's signal is usually very reliable from AZ to TX was quiet for me. Glad you all had fun! I'll be on next Sunday.

- De AA7FV: Conditions in this morning's SSN were very disappointing. It turns out that the CME on its way from the sun arrived at the Earth earlier than expected. Here's a plot of the Kp index for the last few days from Potsdam. The geomagnetic storm started building up just before our SSN this morning, with the Kp geomagnetic index increasing from less than 2 yesterday up to Kp=8 just after our net.
- De N2ZUT: good to be back. Darrel, you were the only SSN operator I heard and you were a solid 559 even with QSB.
- De N1EA: This explains much: The coronal mass ejection from the M1.7 solar flare that took place two days ago has arrived at the DSCOVR satellite. We admit... this coronal mass ejection arrived earlier than we expected!

But the short monopole (7 m wire from the balcony railing to the next tree) works better than expected with the 25 wtts. Sigs were rising at the end of the session. I enjoyed the session in spite of the poor conds.
- De W1BLU: NO ONE! I checked the beacons for: 10M; 12M; 15M; 17M & 20M. Only heard the NY beacon on 20M & Venezuela on 17M… both barely! Apparently my latitude (SFL) didn’t help anything. I’m aware we’re experiencing a (G1) solar storm with a Kp of 5 so I’m sure that’s part of my propagation problem. I’m glad I did my POTA park Friday.

There were 2 stations calling on top of each other, both about S5, and at least one of whom had a very strong echo. Unfortunately, because of the echo plus the doubling I couldn't copy either call. - De AA7FV: Lots of CW contest QRM today, and our alternate frequency 140349 was also occupied. From the GOES X-ray flux, there was an M-class solar flare at about 14:30 UTC, just in time for our SSN. Geomagnetic Field: Major Storm. I'm guessing that this major geomagnetic storm in progress was mainly responsible for the strong flutter on transatlantic signals that we observed in the net this morning. Net conditions could have been much worse this morning.
- De G4CPA: All hell broke loose when contest, trampled all over us hi!

On both 20m and 17m I did hear another weak station calling, but partly because of QRM I didn't copy the call on either band. If it was you I heard, it would have been about RST 239.
- De FR4PU: I received AA7FV's signals within the first seconds of the intended contact on 14 and 18 MHZ. Good game. Perseverance pays off in the end. I worked with my asymmetrical inverted V antenna, the tip of which I set at 14 meters and adjusted the angle (apex) between the two strands to 120°.
